Hey, guys! Tonight I have some good news and bad news!
First, let’s cover the good news! Rob, Timeroot, and I all deliberated and we’ve decided on a new name for the site.
We decided to use the name Trollplay, a suggestion first submitted by Yume Niffel. Thanks, Yume! Her name will be added to the credit page, and she has our appreciation to the max. To herald in the new name, we’ll have a new layout and Timeroot’s system will become our main chat system.
A little information on the changes: All old logs on the 8080 server will be moved, and will be accessible by visiting the same URL without :8080 added on. All old logs on the original server will be accessible by visiting the original URL. Trollplay will be accessible through Trollmegle.net, as well as through a new domain.
Further good news: the developers of MSPARP have decided to make the MSPARP program open-source. As such, we will be adding some of MSPARP’s functionality to Trollplay’s functionality, including automatic quirks and “filter by character” RP connections. That’s a little further down the line, but I hope you look forward to it.
Now for the bad news! The site will be down until Tuesday, March 27th. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes maintenance I have to do before we can roll out the new site design, and I can’t do most of that maintenance while the site is up. Until the site comes back on Tuesday, please feel free to use MSPARP- it’s owned by some lovely people!
The Trollmegle forums will still be available while the site is down. They’ll have a name change, too, but they’ll still be available at http://cel3stial.com/forums.

Name Change
A young site stands in its server. It just so happens that today, the 1st of March, is this young site’s 297th day of existence. Though it was 42 weeks ago it was given “life,” it is only today that it will be given a name!

Trollmegle is undergoing a name change. It will still be the same site, and you will still be able to access it from Trollmegle.net, but we’re not going to call it Trollmegle anymore!
What’s changing?
The site’s name and the site’s stylesheet. Also, Timeroot’s new version of the chatting program will be accessed from the main domain, rather than from http://…com:8080. The original Trollmegle program will move to that location instead.
The site will have a similar look and feel, but there will be a few visual changes. It will still be recognizable, though!
Why?
The owner of Omegle, the popular chatting site, asked us to change the name because the current name infringes on his intellectual property in a way that weakens the Omegle brand. Also, the stylesheet we were using is a copy of the one on his site! Hella rude on our part! Our bad! So, we’re changing both of those things to something else entirely.
Most Trollmegle users have been using Timeroot’s program to chat, rather than the original program. It’s a logical step to make it the default program, and relegate the original to the alternate port. It and its logs will still be available normally!
Will it still be a site to RP Homestuck?
Yes! You can still RP Homestuck or any other characters you want on the site.
Is there anything else?
Yeah! We have a couple of tentative new names for the site, but nothing that fits it perfectly. We’re accepting suggestions, so if you have an idea, submit it as a response to this post. If we use your name, we’ll add you to the credits page on the site!

2:15 AM Edit: Holy cow, you guys. Roughly 60 users at 2AM on a Sunday. It’s going very slowly, because I only accounted for a peak number of users half that number. I’m excited that so many people are using it, but I’m also concerned, because it is making the server run like molasses. I’ll update again if it speeds up or goes down entirely.2:55AM Edit: It turned out that there was an issue with the user counter. Phew. It turns out that we’re hovering around 50 users- still a lot, but nowhere near the 100 it had appeared to be. Suggestions are welcome.
